An experiment connects a plan, materials, methods, observations, and results. The laboratory notebook is being built to keep those records connected.

Chemistry teams work with records that belong together: what they planned, the materials and methods they used, what they observed, and the results. Redstart Scientific’s first application is an electronic laboratory notebook being developed around those relationships.

Redstart is developing the scientific records and laboratory workflows alongside the application services behind them, including identity and access. The platform separates shared capabilities from the specialized work of the notebook so later scientific applications can build on the same foundation.

It establishes a concrete scientific workflow for the wider Redstart Scientific platform, whose intended scope includes further laboratory and research applications.
